Cheerful Celebration (List)
Here’s the ever-growing list I pull from when I need to celebrate…Thanks to Joanne Hunold for her contributions!
…..the little things:
- buy some stargazer lilies & keep them near my door
- soak in a bubble bath with a cold glass of wine and a good book
- savor a piece of dark chocolate
- turn off the phone and watch a DVD, or make a marathon of my favorite guilty pleasure shows from my DVR (Bridezillas, What Not to Wear, Made, House Hunters) with a fresh bowl of popcorn (add some garlic salt – just trust me) and a glass of wine
- sit in the park with the Sunday Times, an iced coffee, and the man I love while enjoying the weather and the multitudes of people walking by
- if it’s warm, throw on a bikini top, grab a chaise lounge on my roof deck and read or write
- if it’s cold, bundle up and go to the roof deck to stargaze until I can’t feel my fingers
- spend the entire day in my pjs
- take a power nap
- don’t set the alarm and sleep the morning/early afternoon away
- treat myself to a mani/pedi at a spa
- indulge in a glazed donut (usually off-limits for me) without a smidge of guilt (but stop at just one donut)
- shop for a new outfit from a store that is not a “discount” one (Marshalls, Ross, etc)
- brew a cup of fancy loose tea, wrap up in a comforter, and watch a DVD, or Tivo-ed movie without multi-tasking (no folding laundry, etc)
- just read a book!!! (again no feeling guilty or calling myself lazy allowed)
- relax in my backyard
- buy a new album I’ve been wanting
- take a walk on the beach around sunset
- have a beach day
- see a movie I’ve been wanting to see
- make a coffee/drink/dinner/brunch date with a friend
- go on a date with Luke
- buy a book that’s in my bookstore that I haven’t read yet
- buy something from my wishlist on MyRegistry.com
- listen to my Positivity Playlist!
- take a yoga class / do my yoga DVD
- take a dance class
- go dancing with my girlfriends!
- sing
- write in my journal
- read a trashy magazine
- allow myself some guilt-free blog-reading time. aaahhhh….
…..the big things:
- find a friend/Mom to see a Broadway show with me
- eat at a fancy schmancy restaurant I’ve been dying to try
- buy myself something over $100 that I need but haven’t let myself purchase (yet!)
- get a spa massage
- get a spa facial
- get a spa body scrub (love those!)
- rent a beach house for a weekend
