My Super Secret Project, (kinda) Announced!

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

My next project, The Declaration of You (How to Find It, Own It & Shout It From the Rooftops), is open for info!

OK, I know that’s vague, but really, I can’t tell ya much more than that. What I can tell ya is that this is an awesometastic coolaboration (yes, a “coolaboration”) with my newest favorite friend, Jess Swift, and we’ve been working our buttock’s off for the past few months to put together a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ for our kindred spirits (creative thinkers, artistically inclined, won’t rest until you’re living a life you love, willing to live in the questions, ready to take the “shoulds” from your life & kick them to the curb, the unconventional, the inspirational, the passion-filled) to discover what it means to be truly, fully, honestly you. When I Grow Up Round-Up!

Friday, July 30th, 2010

wigu_masthead_left

I’ve been flying through the Interwebs lately, & boy, are my arms tired! Come make your connections with me, without putting your lotions into teeny tiny containers. Here’s our itinerary:

  • My July 2010 Spotlight on Rise of the Innerpreneur! According to Tara, “An innerpreneur is an entrepreneur who use their business to find personal fulfillment (creatively, spiritually, emotionally) and create social change.” I’m constantly fixated on maintaining & growing my innerpreneurship (plus, it’s such a super fun word) that I’m just super thrilled to be highlighted here.
  • I was named a Blogger to Watch Out For: Career Coaches on CRAVE thanks to my lovely friend & client Alexandra Franzen, who you’re all sick of hearing about already but I don’t care. Alexandra is the bomb diggity!
  • April of Everything Little Miss devoted lost in thoughts #68 to the lovely ladies that make up our group coaching session, Operation: Creative Career Growth Spurt! This was a group that sprouted from my scholarship contest, & I love coaching these fantabulous women on taking their creative careers to the next level. Check out what April’s getting out of the sessions as well as getting profiles on her “classmates” that give her so much support!
  • You’re sick of hearing about this too, but I have to throw out the Next Top Newsletter contest yet again. I made it to the finals & need your vote! Please click here, scroll about halfway down the page until you see my face/name/other revealing facts & gimme a Thumbs Up. If I win, I’ll record myself singing “A Moment Like This” & will post it on YouTube. I kid you not. Contest ends on Aug 2nd, so please hurry!
  • I wrote a review of The Fatigue Prescription over on Spring, & we’re giving a lucky commenter their very own copy! Head on over, & while you’re at, take a look around! There’s weekly artist spotlight/giveaways, wonderful guest posts, awesometastic discussions & even vulnerable videos from your favorite co-hosts (not like I’m speaking about myself. Except I am).

Please turn off your electronic devices  & put your seats up & tray tables in the upright position, as we’re getting ready for our landing. But before we do, please listen to the following announcements:

  • Juliana Finch needs your help making her next CD! She is an AMAZING (yes, all caps needed) folk singer/songwriter & I need this CD for selfish reasons. Please be a backer for her next CD by contributing on Kickstarter (I did!) before Aug 21st. She also has awesome incentives for backers, so you can get free music, a private living room concert or even a brand new song inspired by your life! So, so cool.
  • I’ve decided to stop my Link Love posts for the time being. I know, I know, I loved it too, but it really is time-consuming for me to get that all together each & every month in a timely fashion. So please, follow me on Twitter and/or see my shared items in my Google Reader page & get the links I love in real time.
  • My next newsletter is out next week, & it’s gonna be awesometastic. If your Inbox needs a double dose of fantastic-ness (one shot for my free 21-page workbook that you get for signing up & another shot for the newsletter itself), then make sure you step up & place your order.

When I Grow Up Is, um, Growing Up!

If you guys read my entire posts, you’ve been noticing that I’ve been teasing ya with some new Services for a while. Thankfully, I can say that I’m no longer a Services Tease – my new Services page has launched with 5 (count ‘em – 5!) packages. That’s one package for each of your fingers on one hand. The other hand will be SOL, but that’s OK, as I have more products & services up my sleeve (and there I go, being a Services Tease again)!

As per usual, every package comes with a Welcome Packet that digs super deep to clarify your challenges, your dreams, your passions, whether you’re a Carrie or Samantha, etc.; custom homework/exercises; a recording of each & every phone session; & automatic evaluations of what you did / where you’re going / whether we’re on track after every third session (for those packages that last more than 3 sessions) &, obviously, my quirky brand of fun, celebratory, energy-filled coaching. Only now you can pay for your package through the Services page & download the Welcome Packet rightafreakinway! You can see everything I’m offering by clicking over to my new Services page, but here’s the breakdown (since I’m still being a Services tease & all):

  • Phone Power: 3 45-min phone sessions / month
  • Email Elation: 3 juicy back & forth email sessions / month
  • Combo Craze: 1 45-min phone session with 2 follow-up email sessions / month
  • Singular Sensation: 1 75-min phone session with 1 45-min follow-up session to use in 2 months time
  • Former (Client) Frenzy: 1 60-min phone session or 3 60-min sessions to use within 6 months

And yes, the prices have gone up, but if you subscribe to my newsletter & keep your eyes on your Inbox on Friday morning, you’ll get a super secret code to use to get the old rates through August 1st. You’ll also get an awesome article I wrote about “passion” (thanks to this great discussion!) & your copy of my free 21-page, 7-exercise workbook Pounding (Your Head Against) the Pavement. (more…)

Blog Out Loud 6 was Blogtastic!

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

35863_399737003805_54904663805_4347196_6096756_n

The panelists! Meredith, Amy, me, Rebecca (moderator & Blog Out Loud co-creator), Megan (co-creator of Blog Out Loud), Alison & Erin. I think we might be the best looking panel in the history of ever.

Monday night was Blog Out Loud 6 (finally!), & to say I was superly duperly psyched would be a superly duperly understatement. I had a private session and a group coaching session scheduled, but I cleared the rest of my day to get ready (a combination of getting into the “right” frame of mind & straightening the hell out of my hair) & just enjoy everything leading up to what I knew was gonna be a wonderful night. This was as close to performing as I’ve gotten being a coach, & I couldn’t wait to get in front of an audience & have my “castmates” be a panel of really highly respected, awesometastic bloggers. I knew this was my jam.

I was cool as a cucumber until, oh, 5:30p or so, when I got on the subway & made my way to tonefarmer 75 minutes before I had to be there. Of course, the usually long-ish wait for the G train took mere seconds, & I got out of the subway 40 minutes before Rebecca & Megan asked the panelists to arrive. I decided to head over to tonefarmer anyways, figuring that my two hands might be of use for setting up, stuffing goody bags, etc. ( I ain’t above some manual labor – yet!). I ignored the butterflies in my stomach and made my way to 25th Street.

Hodgepodge of Awesomeness

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Hi everyone! I miss you. I’ve been neglecting you this week. OK, possibly maybe not really, but I feel that way.

I also have started feeling recently that things were getting too serious & pimp-y & straight-laced around here. I was starting to get jealous of bloggers who post pics of the food/parties/galavants they’ve ate/attended/galavanted, & I want some of that love here. I eat/party/galavant, too! But for some reason, those posts fall by the wayside, deemed “not important.” No longer, I say!

To start the lovefest, I just have to post pics of my new besties Jess Swift & Khristian A. Howell. Jess & I have become close friends since we started working together last August (yes, she was my client! love it!), & we could hardly believe that we never met! I was so, so glad that I agreed to help her / forced my help onto her (depending on who you ask) so we could spend the better part of 4 days together while she was here for Surtex. Khristian is also a fantabulous designer who exhibited at the conference, & since she & Jess traveled here together from Atlanta, we were all joined at the hip. We might have sobbed on the street when saying our good-byes. And when I say “might have,” I mean “definitely did.” But can you blame us? Look how cute we are, even after walking around in cold, wet, humid, misty-rainy weather!

Remember when I had an awesome idea last year to give away 12 coaching sessions for free to one awesome person? Remember when I got all of those responses & had such a freakin’ tough time picking one? It was then that I declared: “I’m gonna do this next year!”

Well, it’s next year! And the crowd goes wild!

I’m so, so, so freakin’ thrilled to announced that my Scholarship Survey is open for anyone interested in saving $948 & getting 12 private 45-min phone sessions with me for $0. It’s also for anyone interested in getting 20% off any of my coaching services before the end of June, since anyone that enters gets a super secret signal to give me if they don’t win. (more…)

New Headshots!

Monday, March 29th, 2010

When I met a client recently in person who didn’t recognize me from my (5 year old!) photo, I came to a grim reality: I need new headshots! While the old ones looked enough like me, & conveyed exactly the right attitude of Fun, Bright, Colorful & Creative that I want to convey to my clients (& the Interweb population at large), I knew it was time for an update. Thankfully, one of my close friends knew someone that was looking to build his portfolio, & offered to take my pics in exchange for the use of ‘em & the cost of studio time. I saw a few shots of his, figured I’d get at least one good one, & met him on Saturday (with Luke!) to shoot. Since it is The Future & I got to see some of the shots right away, I knew I had some good ones to pick from – but I never expected such trouble in picking a winner!

So, I whittled them down to lucky 13,  opened up the voting to the Facebook friends, Fan & Twitter followers & asked ‘em: Which one do ya like the best?

This one?

Oh, the places I’ve gone/have been/will go! And here they are!

Red Dress Studios logo

A few weeks ago, I was emailed by Ana of Red Dress Studios to answer the question, “What advice would you give to women business owners that want to build their confidence muscles (& generally rock at what they do)?” I emailed my answer &, uh, promptly forgot all about it. Imagine my thrilledness when Ana tweeted me to announce that the e-book  was now available as a free download on her site! I clicked right over & found myself in the company of my inspirers & heroes: Danielle LaPorte, Christine Mason Miller, Jessica Swift (she dropped the Gonacha!), Jennifer Lee, Sarah Bray, Tara Joyce, Leah Piken Koladis…do I need to go on? I think not.  I’d link to ‘em all, but figured you’d rather get their websites and gems of wisdom by downloading the ebook. I’m so very proud to be a part of this!
