Link Love: March 2010

Carmen Torbus is awesome, & she made this. With leaving my day job (finally!) & all, it’s so how I feel. She’s an articulate, smart lady!
Guys, this is getting ridic. Stop writing awesome stuff, OK! It is getting too tough for me to narrow it down for my Link Love posts! Geez Louise Louise, I’m telling you…grumble grumble grumble….
OK, I guess I’ll be all life coachy & see this from a “Look at all the total awesomeness this month! Wowza!”
- How I haven’t yet listened to any Creative Living with Jamie podcasts is ridiculous. She interviews such fantastic women (Rachelle Mee-Chapman, Keri Smith, the Kind Over Matter girls), I can’t limit myself to one link. So just subscribe via iTunes, will ya? I’ll be listening along with ya!
- Pondering Yoga & God on Torpid Trifling. Katy, the author, went to high school with my husband, & I thank him all the time for telling me to read her blog. A gorgeous writer with so much goodness to share.
- The Story We Find Ourselves In on Creative Every Day is especially for those who’ve convinced themselves they aren’t creative. Puh-shaw.
- Magpie Confessional: Small Business Neurosis on Magpie Girl. Get outta my head, Rachelle!
- 57 Questions to Spark Your Creativity on A Beautiful Ripple Effect is awesome for obvious reasons.
- Be Your Own Guru on Awake at the Wheel features the gem, “The person I was looking for was the one I needed to become.” Whoa.
- Six Months Later on Follow My Bliss marks the time when Jen quit her day job, as well as the awesome opportunity she got herself &, ultimately, passed on. She is so my hero.
- The Break Through Your Creative Blocks series on Lateral Action is awesome. Just head to the last one, I’ve Run Out of Things to Say & scroll down to see the rest. Read what your Vampires keep whispering in your ear.
- How to Fall in Love with You: Step One on Ink on my Fingers broaches a big fear of mine: a solo artist date. Eek!
- Jess Swift (who is no longer Jess Gonacha, yay!), I need to request a blogging vacation from you, as your posts are too meaty & pretty & awesome to stop from linking to a crapload of ‘em. March’s crapload includes The Perils of Being Balanced, Do What YOU Want, A Curious Thing Happened to Me Last Week (& it involves Lady Gaga), & Walk the Tightrope (is this print in your shop yet? Hurry up, lady!)
- Aligning Strategy & Compassion on Productive Flourishing takes the Yuck outta selling.
- One of the Most Powerful Questions, Ever on White Hot Truth is the one that I need to ask myself, & then be quiet until I have the answer. Thank you, Danielle.
- Failing Well & It’s OK to Be OK on Kylie Writes deals with two of my favorite things: imperfection & acceptance. Aaaaaahhhhhh.
- Not Good Enough on Ivy League Insecurities is where Aidan brings her Vulnerability Vampire to the surface. I also loved Dollhouses & Dreams, because I was there in her apartment with Gretchen Rubin & 40 other women, & I felt lucky & honored & special. Yup, I’ll write about my experience soon (spoiler: it involves me telling Gretchen & a room full of strangers about my disgusting habit. Thank God it got a laugh!).
- Have you listened to Art Heroes Radio? Me neither, but it looks awesome & I had to share it right away.
- All of the Money March videos are up on Spring! Each under 20 minutes, we answer the questions, How can you trust that you can do what you love & the money will follow?, How do you determine your worth & be comfortable charging it?, How can comparing yourself to those who are seemingly making a lot of money be inspiring instead of defeating?, & How much is money wrapped up in our definition of success? Y’know, easy stuff. And don’t forget to leave a comment to be entered to win 3 Bright Side necklaces by Jess LC – the more you comment, the bigger chance you have of winning! And don’t forget to enter our Be Our Co-Host contest. We’re looking for a new one & it could be YOU (said in my best Rod Roddy voice)!
- Mission Possible….or What I Know for Sure on Carmen Torbus was sparked by my post. Aw. Speaking of Carmen Torbus, she’s hosting an Art + Dreams Bound Retreat in May at a funky place called The Purple Cottage. You are so gonna wanna go.
- Friday’s Confession on Crafty Fanny, in which making pulled pork is like being an artist. Just trust me on this one. And speaking of Crafty Fanny, she’s committed to making a painting a week for At the Crossroads, a not-for-profit that helps homeless youth. Your $25 donation gets you in a raffle to win one of the 8 paintings she’ll make, while the rest get put on Etsy with part of the profits going back to the organization. You can donate & enter by heading to her contribution page. All the cool kids are doing it (aka me!).
- It’s OK to Be Awesome on Unicorns for Socialism. Speaking of Unicorns for Socialism, Alexandra’s last day at her job was yesterday (woo to the hoo!), & I hafta pimp out her freelance services (classified as “writer / editor / organization freak”) because they’re – yes – totally awesome. Check her out.
- It’s Not a Waste of Time on Your Creative Ally. Speaking of Your Creative Ally (yup, I’m sticking with that transition), you can win a free hour of VA work with Sara (who’s my VA) by clicking right here.
Now that I look back, this is still a ridiculously long list, & I know I totally killed your Friday. But that’s why I put the little tidbits about each link, so you can see which ones you wanna read. So nice of me, right? I know!
Happy April, my friends! The sun is shining & I so appreciate you. Have a great weekend!

@Carmen – First off, how cute is your name? Love the title! But now you’ve gotten that terrible Rod Stewart song in my head. It’s a wash.
@Leah – You’re most welcome! The pleasure is all mine.
@Jamie – Absolutely! Now if only I can hear what your podcast clearly while I’m on the subway. It’s the perfect length for my commute into/out of the city!
@Susannah – Um……uh……..hmmmm…..OK? You did make it sound fun! OK, I will – game on!
@Jess – No, you’re the one that needs to take a blog break because everything you write is awesome & I can’t keep up with the greatness!
@Alexandra – You’re a person in your pic & not a unicorn! Hooray! Love seeing your cute face. And tell the unicorns “you’re welcome.”
