Motivation Monday: Hold On

hold on

hold on, originally uploaded by .neha. & found via kind over matter

It’s the end of the year – ain’t there a whole lotta whirlwinds going on? It seems everyone I talk to have things to do do do & places to go go go. I know that my head, for one, is spinning spinning spinning with all the things I want to accomplish this month. Usually, hearing the phrase “hold on” means that something is slipping away, out of my grasp. But now, with all the things I want to put in place in order to open up a whole boatload of new, exciting, jump-up-&-down possibilities, I’m thinking that I need to hold on to what’s most important & be nice to myself for what doesn’t get done. Hold On being my anchor, and allowing the other stuff to float away.

How are you seeing this end-of-the-year crazy-busyness?

Um, it is crazy! We are watching every dollar, so we’re making gifts this year. Of course when I went to get started this weekend I found out I bought the wrong thing so now we have to go out again to shop. Blah. I was hoping that part was all done. But we have like three places to take returns, haha.

And that’s just the holiday-related craziness. I’m wishing I had stayed more on top of creative business stuff because I’m losing some good stuff that is time sensitive!

Oh well, live and learn. And in the meanwhile, have some hot cocoa with Bailey’s!

It sounds crazy, Magchunk! For you, it seems like Hold On is to be taken literally so the craziness doesn’t get a hold of you! How can you hold on to the anchors, though & let everything else not drug you under? That answer is so different for everyone, but hot cocoa & Bailey’s is a great start! :)

Maybe the key to holding on to sanity is to let go of something else!

    For instance, my laundry. :/

I have to tell you, Luke & I did 1/2 a load of laundry from mid-Oct until last weekend, & we gave 2 20+ pound bags to the laundromat to wash & fold for us! And yes, it totally saved our sanity.
