Motivation Monday: Home

Home Is Where Our Story Begins by vol.25
We’re here, everyone. We’re home. We moved in on Saturday & are still in shock from the sheer happen-ness of it all (as in, “It happened. It really happened”). We’re living amongst our boxes & didn’t get to redo the floors without moving all of our stuff in first, but we don’t care. It’s not important. This is our first home, and the view is spectacular.
I wrote the paragraph above two weeks ago, when we thought everything was gonna go “smoothly” & that we’d be in our new home with all of our stuff by now. But, I’ll have to save it for next week, because we’re closing today, redoing the scuffed-up floors (that’ll look so pretty when they’re done!) & moving in on Saturday. (Insert happiness sigh here)
I wanted to take a 2-wk break after the move to unpack & paint & buy furniture, but things are so nutso in my head with the closing, changing our address, scheduling things, yada yada yada that my brain will just not work today. So, I’m gonna take away the stress of having to write sensical posts (sensical posts seem to be well-liked, for some reason) & start the guest bloggers tomorrow! Keep swinging by or checking your email/reader, because good stuff by Charlotte Dauphin, Aidan Donnelley Rowley, Laura Neff, & Jen Curran is coming at’cha this week. Next week brings us Cory Huff, Jeremie Miller, Lisa Hedben, Tara Lutman Agazayak, & Lindsay Christensen.
They’re all super gems. I know, because I’ve read ‘em already. I’m sneaky like that. Enjoy, and miss me! I’ll totally miss you guys (but will still “see” you, because I’ll be all over those comments. I’m sneaky like that).

Aw, thanks Paige! Gotta say it was a draining but exciting day. We’re scrambling for a floor guy because ours doesn’t have insurance, which might throw off the timing of the move-in, but no matter what, we’ll make it work!

Congratulations Michelle. I know this has been along time coming for you. Yea! You get to be a homeowner. You’re gonna love it. Happy moving and unpacking.

Thanks, Melissa! We hit a snafu with the floor guy (aka he’s not insured!) & now we’re scrambling to find another that would still allow us to move in on Saturday. It’s no fun owning a home that you can’t yet live in! But it’s nice to know that it’s there waiting for us…

wow, I am just loving that sweet home picture! Best of the luck with the move, the first night in a new home (with a bottle of wine) is always the best feeling! There are such possibilities and hope for a new home!

Thanks, Julieann! We’re not in the apartment yet (a week from Wed!) but can’t wait for our first night there! You must know our priorities, because when we packed for this week between apartments I only brought the “necessities”, which included a corkscrew!
