I’m a Fire Starter!

OK, so I lied. I’m here! I didn’t take a break. I just absolutely couldn’t once I experienced 3.5 hours with Danielle LaPorte as part of the NYC Fire Starter Group. There are a kajillion (yes, really a kajillion) ideas spinning in my head, and so many things I want to do (first: go through every item & object I own and ask, “Does this inspire me?” & get rid of the “No”s), but I had to get out my biggest epiphany & I had to do it quickly. I didn’t even eat lunch! I didn’t even pee! I just came home & made this. I had to. But you get what you wish for: My fire was totally started, Danielle!

Oh, and Danielle, you NEED to do a longer session. Like, at least 5 hours. But a whole weekend would be mind-blowing. And yes, not should. Need.

And what is up about my freeze face in the beginning of these videos? Gack.

Oh, thanks so much Goddess Leonie! I promise to keep on being me. Isn’t it crazy that it’s something we need to put conscious thought/energy behind?

And Danielle, this comment meant so much to me. After all the gifts you gave me during the Fire Starter, I’m so glad that I was able to give you one back. Thanks again for everything.

I meant to write a comment on this yesterday– I love this vlog, Michelle! I love that you rushed right home to do it. :) What an inspiration– you’re right, we DO have all the answers that we need for ourselves. I love that when we talk on the phone next we get to talk about the Fire Starter Session since we’ve both done one now. YAY for Danielle Laporte, and YAY for us!

  5. Michelle Says:

You are awesome, Jess. That about sums it up.

Oh girl! I SO hear you on the “I must sign up for everything so I don’t miss anything that I SHOULD know or SHOULD be doing!” I’m also in the process of unsubscribing unsubscribing unsubscribing like crazy. So much more breathing room to ACCESS all that good stuff I/we DO know…’cause we know a LOT! (As does our gut and intuition)

One thing that I still do, tho, because I enjoy it, is signing up for teleclasses/interviews and filing the recordings on a “Teleclasses to Listen To” playlist for my iPod. Then when I take a road trip, I listen to lots of them, and it’s great! I love it!

I’m really proud of and excited for you. There’s so much certainty in you here…strength and clarity. Keep it going! YOU ROCK!!!

    xoxo,
    Laura

Okay, Miss Michelle, sorry for being so late in reading this! Although honestly I had to laugh a little during your vlog because I have also recently begun weeding out all of the various newsletters & blog subscriptions that just sort of drive me nuts (yours is not one of those, obv!) – and I think you are sooo right. It is about trusting ourselves! Sometimes I feel like, oh god, I can’t be a good blogger if I’m not reading 5 million other blogs, when actually that’s just insanity-causing.

Oh – and I did the Style Statement last year! I LOVE the book & the whole concept. You’ll definitely have to update us as you get into it :) I’m totally jealous that you got to go to a Fire Starter session with Danielle!! Oh man, and congrats on the house!!!!! And sorry for the long comment! LOL

  8. Michelle Says:

Laura N, I totally hear ya about the playlists. I love me some teleclasses (again, when it’s from those in My Tribe!), but I rarely get to listen because I can only do it in transit on the subway, & it’s so damn loud I can’t hear anything that’s not music! I listen, then, in my apartment, but it’s way more sporadic. Ah, to own a car…

Laura G, Thanks for saving me! I’ve been weeding out the blogs too (although that seems to be even harder!), & of COURSE I’m still reading Lolalina. Love. What were your two words for Style Statement? Can’t wait to find mine! And thanks for the congrats. And leave a long comment anytime!
