White Hot Truth: The Answers

Danielle LaPorte of White Hot Truth & Carrie + Danielle created these custom interview questions for me, which is awesome. So not only am I getting interviewed by one of my blidols (that’s a new combo word I made, merging “blogging” and “idols”), but these questions are just for me!

If by some fat chance I’m one of your blidols, or even if you’re just not annoyed by my posts & you have a blog of your own, read THE INTERVIEW RULES at the end of this post if you’d like me to interview you. Karma, people.

THE INTERVIEW

1. What has cooking taught you? Uh……it has taught me that I’m not good at everything that I do, and sometimes convenience matters most. If my current cooking skills were a subject on the $10K Pyramid, they would be Things You Toast and Things You Microwave, with few exceptions. When I come home I’m usually famished and want to eat quickly. If I’m not famished, I still don’t want to spend time cooking. I have other things to do!
2. What do you avoid? Confrontation. I’m much, much better than I used to be, but somewhere between high school and college I went from always, always, always telling someone if I was upset/hurt by them to…..not. As an adult I’m able to recognize when confrontation is going to be fruitful and when it’s….not.
3. What 3 books rocked your world?

  • Marjorie Morningstar by Herman Wouk is my all-time favorite novel, although I didn’t know it at the time. It’s the only book that calls my name at certain points in my life, and I must pick it up and read it again.
  • He’s Just Not That Into You by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo was my bible when I was single, and provided a huge wake-up call to me about my recent (huge, enormous, painful, shattering, debilitating – at the time) break-up. My best friend and I still remind each other, “Don’t waste the pretty.”
  • Honestly, I’m racking my brain for the last one. I wish I had some great creativity or time management or self-help book that has “rocked my world”, but I just read novels until recently. I would always recommend to anyone who needs a great novel to pick up Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi, despite the fact that’s it’s about a dwarf from Nazi Germany.

4. What do you find yourself wishing for most frequently? An affordable apartment to purchase in NYC! Unless you’re a multi-millionare (with an extra million in the bank to soothe the co-op board’s soul), it’s impossible to get more than 500 square feet anywhere. Plus, you have to put down 20% wherever you go. Luke & I are hoping that Brooklyn will give us more viable options and something larger than a 1BR for lower than our ceiling price. Sigh.
5. How would you describe your best quality? Uniquity. Is that a word? I’m so completely, utterly myself (as my stepdad says, “No bullshit”) and I don’t try to hide it. Does it mean that I’m transparent? Or that I make myself vulnerable all the time? Or that I’m my true self with each and every person I meet? Um, no. But at 31 years old I can finally say “take it or leave it”. I know my values and my goals, my style and my humor, what’s worth holding on to and what’s worth letting go. My sass, my energy, my uniquity, & my chutzpah make me the woman I am today.

THE INTERVIEW RULES
* leave me a comment saying: “interview me”
* all comments will be published, as long as your name isn’t Mr Cameltoe (obviously, Mr Cameltoe, who commented this week, is a robot spammer)
* I will e-mail you five questions of my choice
* you can then answer the questions on your blog {with a link back to my blog}
* you should also post these rules, along with an offer to interview anyone else who e-mails you wanting to be interviewed
* anyone who asks to be interviewed should be sent 5 questions to answer on their blog
* it would be nice if the questions were individualized for each blogger

UPDATE AS OF FEB 9, 2009: I have created a page where this post lives, as well as all links to the answers from my interviewees. For those that don’t have a blog, or are unable to post their answers on their blog, I included their answers on that page as well. If you wanna read ‘em all in a nice & neat fashion, go here. If you wanna join in on the fun, comment below!

Interview me (might as well JUMP IN and get wet!)

I laughed VERY loud about the mr cameltoe spammer name…oyyyeee

  2. admin Says:

YAY! Thanks for being the first, brave commenter on this post. I wish I made up Mr. Cameltoe, but alas, I did not. I mean really, if you’re gonna be a spammer at least have a believable name, right? Something like….Jack Mehoff.

OK, here are your questions, Sharon:
    * What’s your favorite “me time” activity? Why?
    * Where did you grow up, and how has that defined you?
    * How do you keep your optimistic spirit?
    * How would you spend your time if you won The Lottery (it’s in capitals because I ain’t talking about scratch-offs – I’m talking about The Lottery!)?
    * What’s your favorite quote and why?

Please comment/email back when they’re done so I can link them here. Have fun!

  3. Christopher Avery Says:

I’d love to be interviewed. Thanks!

  4. admin Says:

Sweet! Alright, Christopher – here are your questions:

    * What’s your definition of “responsibility”?
    * What’s your favorite aspect of being on Twitter?
    * What would happen during your Perfect Day, where you can do what you want, when you want, how you want? Describe it from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed.
    * What’s your favorite movie of all time and why?
    * Why is Comfort, Texas named Comfort? Feel free to answer figuratively or literally.

Please comment/email back when they’re done so I can link them here. Have fun!

  5. admin Says:

This is for Emma at Old Soul Ink, because she tweeted me asking for some questions (for those that don’t know what a “tweet” is, stay tuned for a special Saturday post & find out!):

    * What’s your morning routine? If you don’t have one, why not?
    * What do you need to let go of, right now?
    * What do you most value, on an emotional level?
    * What 5 words would your friends use to describe you?
    * What’s the one thing you should be doing for yourself that you know you’re not?

  6. Sharon Says:

What’s your favorite “me time” activity? Why?
“My favorite “me time” is hangin with my “Girlz” (the girlfriends), and my fav place to do that is at the Beach! I need to do it more often! My Girlz make me laugh, they energize my spirit….they inspire me with their heart(s) and how amazingly resilient each of them are in their lives! We always have fun and are able to be our true “spirits” around each other…which of course draws others to us! Just having FUN is so important and so I guess my fav “me time”…is fun with the “Girlz”.
    * Where did you grow up, and how has that defined you?
This is quite a deep question…lol…I have to say that part of me was defined by the friendships and lessons that took place while I lived in Buffalo. I have great parents, that where (and still are) strong role models…strong enough to “let me fall” and strong enough to tell me to “pick myself up and dust myself off” and get back on the path….so I learned early on to have a positive outlook and I know that my Dad told me that I could do ANYTHING….anything that I put my mind and heart to! My friends helped me learn to have fun, laugh… be loyal…. Oh…and I still hate to shovel snow! HA…well in fact …I heard a little quip years ago…”if my car can’t drive through it…I don’t think I should have to “move” it…I am far less powerful than my car!”…I was a changed women! I resolved to never shovel again…well now I live South…so no worries!
    * How do you keep your optimistic spirit?
I think it goes back to my childhood. I don’t’ think we ever where complainers…and I just don’t attract that kind of person ….and when you don’t have “Debbie Downer” calling you every day…it is pretty easy to see the brighter side of your own life! I have had a few “tough times” and at this point in my life..I can honestly…whole heartedly say…I would not trade those experiences for anything…each of them…although seemingly disastrous at the time…caused me to turn down paths that led to the best of the best experiences of my life…so I have grown wiser…and I just “give in” to the fact that there are really no bad result to an experience…it is the attitude that makes them have a good or bad outcome. I hope that everyone lives long enough…to “get this”! When you expect things to turn out great …or better yet…KNOW that they will turn out great and exactly as they should…it comes second nature to be optimistic!
    * How would you spend your time if you won The Lottery (it’s in capitals because I ain’t talking about scratch-offs – I’m talking about The Lottery!)?
At the Beach…easy answer…well first I would make sure my family had no financial worries of any kind first! Then I would live at a BIG HUGE BEACH house or 2….perhaps one in Myrtle Beach and one in San Diego….I would travel to visit friends. I would still do my job…but maybe not as many hours a week/month. I would perhaps replace that time with helping animals somehow…they need people to look out for their best interest (financially and physically) …. It would be great to help take care of the critters that need the most help.
    * What’s your favorite quote and why?
I have many, but today I offer this one…
“When in doubt, show up early. Think less. Feel more. Ask once. Give thanks often. Expect the best. Appreciate everything. Never give up. Make it fun. Lead. Invent. Regroup. Wink. Chill. Smile. And live as if your success was inevitable, and so it shall be.”

    The Universe

from http://www.tut.com ….he has sooo many that I love!  By the way…you might have mentioned you needed something new to read…if you havn’t already read…pick up one of his “Notes” books…you won’t be disappointed!

  7. Mark Stone Says:

What the hell. I’m up for it. Though I’m a bit worried about the questions you’ll have for me. :)

    I’m ready.

  8. admin Says:

Mark, don’t be scared of me! I promise to go easy on you. Or do I? (Insert evil laugh here):

    * How did you know that your wife was your soul mate?
    * Out of all of your goals, what the one that’s the most important to you?
    * What’s your favorite part of being a celebrity gossip blogger?
    * What do you want to create more of in your life?
    * What would you do with an extra hour every day?

    Please, no crying.

  9. admin Says:

Sharon – thanks for those insightful answers! As someone who describes herself as an optimistic pessimist (or pessimistic optimist), I love what you had to say about every heartbreak bringing you down the “right” path. It’s all about attitude!

Wanted to mention that these answers are meant to be put on your blog, so feel free to create a new post with them! Then you link back to my blog, and I in turn link back to yours – so we scratch each other’s back with some promotion.

But, if you don’t have a blog & still want to partake, feel free to answer the questions here! I love a meaty comment section.

  10. Joanne Hunold Says:

Hey Michelle: Me! Me! Please interview me! I will put the answers on my blog, but not sure yet which one — the Boomer Solopreneur blog (which I have been neglecting lately) or my new as-yet-untitled-and-unpublished blog about not-sure-but-probably-about-whatever-I-like. Maybe I’ll post on both.

  11. Mark Stone Says:

    * How did you know that your wife was your soul mate?
    – We were driving home from our first trip together – to Minneapolis. I had never spent that much time together with a girlfriend before, and I just KNEW that it was right and that I wanted to marry her. It was one of those lightbulb moments… no joke. Since that moment (which is almost 14 years ago) there has never been any doubt.
    * Out of all of your goals, what the one that’s the most important to you?
    – The one I scored against my brother, who was an amazing goalie. Oh THAT kind of goal. Probably achieving a level of professional success where I’m in a position to work really hard when I want and relax really hard when I need it.
    * What’s your favorite part of being a celebrity gossip blogger?
    – Having my voice heard. I think my opinion is different enough from most of what’s out there and I enjoy sharing it. That, and the drive to be #1, which is going to be a long road.
    * What do you want to create more of in your life?
    – Time spent in nice weather. I realize that for this to happen we’ll have to move to San Diego, which may just happen one day. Even here in Kelowna, which probably has the best overall weather in Canada, there’s still too many days spent indoors. It’s amazing what a good, long walk in nice weather can do for your spirits and overall state of mind.
    * What would you do with an extra hour every day?
    – Exercise. That’s the one thing that seems to get the shaft when I’m busy. I may always find time to swim but I think if there were an extra hour I would use it to my advantage and really work out properly. I’m sure there’s a whole lot of other things I can think of, but I don’t want to take up too much space on here. :)

  12. admin Says:

    Joanne,

Are you gonna keep up with Booming Solopreneurs, or is it being abandoned? If it’s the former post it on both, but if it’s the latter you can post it just on the new one (SO exciting to see/read it, BTW) with a link to the new from the old.

Am I making sense? I’m sick so my head is mucho fuzzy.

OK, here are your five questions:
    * If you could assign a word to 2009, what would it be?
    * What led you to coaching, and what keeps you there?
    * What’s in your Brilliant Ideas/To Do Someday notebook?
    * If you had a genie grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?
    * What advice would you have given to yourself 10 years ago?

Make sure that you send me the link when you’re done! Have fun!

  13. Carolyn Says:

What fun! I would love questions :) !!

  14. admin Says:

Great, Carolyn! Just got to your blog and love it, BTW! Your 10 Techniques to Overcome Procrastination are really fab. And, um, the not-for-profit you founded at the young age of 15? So amazing!

    Here are your questions:
    * What keeps you up at night?
    * What piece of advice would your present self give your future self, circa 2029? (Or, what advice would you give to yourself in 20 years?)
    * If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
    * What is your best character trait?
    * What’s your favorite TV show of all time?

Don’t forget to comment back or email me with the link to your answers, so I can link back to it in a future post. Enjoy!

  15. Tammy/crypticfragments Says:

hi Michelle, great idea, ok bring it on!

  16. admin Says:

OK Tammy, it has been broughten!:

    * Where has been your most favorite place to live, and why?
    * What’s your most precious possession?
    * If you had only one day to spend $20,000 (or else it would disappear!), what would you do with it?
    * What’s your favorite way to express yourself creatively?
    * What would you like to be written on your tombstone?

Have fun! Can’t wait to see your answers – make sure you let me know when your post is up.

  17. Tammy/crypticfragments Says:

I’ll blog my replies on http://justreallife.blogspot.com and will dm you on twitter when it’s ready to view
    ;-)

  18. Tammy/crypticfragments Says:

ok I posted my responses here on my Just Real Life blog!
    http://justreallife.blogspot.com/2009/02/5-questions.html

  19. admin Says:

Thanks for posting the link, Tammy – I loved reading your interview!

I’ve decided that in order to keep up these interviews until infinity, and to make sure all the links get displayed to the answers, I’m going to create a page on my blog with this post & all the links that go with it!

So, comment here with your request to be interviewed, and I’ll post your questions here too. Then come back & comment with a link to where your answers are, and I’ll add it to the interview page that I’ll create this week/weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: If you don’t have a blog & you still want to participate, then post your answers here! I’ll copy & paste them onto the new page -no worries. I don’t want anyone to be left out!

  20. Julie Bestry Says:

I’d love to answer the interview questions! (As I noted in my tweet, it’s not appropriate for me to post personal responses on my business blog given that I’m part of a corporate platform, so please feel free to prioritize people who can drive your traffic!) But goody…I love to answer questions!

  21. admin Says:

OK Julie – here ya go!:

    * What’s the most important organization tip that you have?
    * What was your most vivid/frequent dream? (Dream as in sleeping, not dream as in goal)
    * If you had to give yourself a tag line, what would it be?
    * What 5 words would your friends use to describe you?
    * How do you recharge your batteries?

    Comment away!

  22. admin Says:

    Mark –

Loved your answers! I hope Reena knows that story – it’s so sweet.

I also love the idea of “relaxing really hard.” Nothing was more awesome than being on my honeymoon, as I allowed myself to just rest, read books, and enjoy time away from….everything. Having those 2 weeks to just relax with Luke was something I’d like to have in my life every year (if not more often)!

  23. Hilary Says:

    Interview me! (what a great idea…) :)

  24. Julie Bestry Says:

    * What’s the most important organization tip that you have?

“Don’t put things down. Put them AWAY!” I know, that sounds superficial, but the truth is that defining a home, where things belong when they are not being used, is really the key. After all, as I tell all my clients, “everything should have a home, but not everything has to live with you.”

First, because deciding WHERE something belongs forces you to really think about whether something is still age-appropriate, size-appropriate and lifestyle-appropriate and needs to live with you at all. Too often, we hold onto things that represent who we used to be, or who we once dreamed we’d be, letting our pasts and faux-futures crowd us out of our present.

Second, defining the “home” for something (that is, where it goes when you DO put it “away”, means that you can follow the other rules of organizing, like grouping LIKE ITEMS together, having things LIVE WHERE THEY’RE USED, and bearing in mind the the utility/proximity ratio (which means, the more often you want/need to use something, the closer it should be to you; the less often you need it, the farther away it should be, rather than cluttering up your prime real estate). I could talk about organizing forever, but it all goes back to that essential tip–”Don’t put things down, put them AWAY!”

    * What was your most vivid/frequent dream? (Dream as in sleeping, not dream as in goal)

I often dream that I’ve gone back to working in television again. In the dream, I’m dealing with all the old (technical, financial and personnel) problems, putting out all the same fires, and mad at myself for coming back to television instead of staying a professional organizer. In the dream, I feel the same old stresses, plus two new ones–first, I’m mad at myself for having given up on the organizing, the profession I truly love, and second, I resent having to work for someone else when I know I do better when I can drive my destiny. The dream always turns into lucid dreaming, where I calm myself down my reminding myself that I would NEVER acquiesce to being a TV program director again, certainly not at THAT station…and that I must be dreaming. I always wake up very relieved. :-)

    * If you had to give yourself a tag line, what would it be?

Well, my business has a tag line: “Don’t apologize. Organize!” If I had to give myself one, I guess I’d have to tweak my own sense of self and make it “Right…about everything…since 1967.”

    * What 5 words would your friends use to describe you?

    Talkative. Smart. Creative. Funny. Loquacious.

(Oh, who am I kidding? My real have-known-me-forever friends would skip *everything* that isn’t a synonym for talks and talks and talks and talks.)

    * How do you recharge your batteries?

By immersing myself in excellent narratives: great television and films, brilliant books, songs with lyrics that stay with you for days. Words feed my soul. Though a Peanut Butter Cup and a silly dance sometimes does just as well.

    Thanks for the great questions!

  25. admin Says:

    For Hilary, Renaissance Woman:

    * What do your photographs say about you?
    * What’s your favorite personal clothing item and why?
    * What would your ideal home look like?
    * What’s better: Brooklyn or LA? (And yes, one of them has to win)
    * If you had to choose which 5 things to eat for the rest of your life, what would you pick?

Your blog rocks, BTW. Can’t wait to see the link to your answers!

  26. admin Says:

Love your answers, Julie! I think of you every time I bring in the mail…and put it on my counter. I have my Tickler (which I love), but haven’t found the best way for both me & Luke to (remember to) use it. We’re gonna buckle down this weekend, though!

Maybe your tag line should be “Talking about….everything….since 1967″? :)

BTW, if you love Peanut Butter Cups you MUST find Butterfinger hot chocolate. Oh. My. Lord. http://is.gd/ixjc

  27. Matches Malone Says:

    I’ll play. Interview me :)

  28. admin Says:

Alright Matches – you asked for it!:

*Where the heck did Matches Malone come from?
    * How do you decide which avatars to feature on your Twitter background?
    * What one book has blown your mind, and what about it has stuck with you?
    * If you can be given one superpower, what would it be?
    * What do you have a soft spot for?

Have fun, Mike! Make sure you let me know when the answers are up on your blog.

  29. jamie Says:

I’m totally in! Is it cool to post my responses etc next week? I’m totally over-blog committed this week but I really want to play :)

  30. admin Says:

Jamie, you are another one of my blidols & you can respond whenever you damn well please!

    Here are your questions:
    * If you were a rock star, who would you be and why?
    * If you had to make a dreamboard for your daughter, what would it contain?
    * What would make up your perfect breakfast?
    * If you were forced to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
    * How do you get over being scared?

    Have fun, and no pressure!

  31. jamie Says:

Rock on! I’m already planning my rock star outfit! I’ll totally delve into this when I’m back from my world tour.

  32. admin Says:

Stay away from the groupies, Jamie!

  33. Hilary Says:

Okay! I have answered your questions! That was a whole lotta fun! Thanks!

    Here is my blog post!

  34. Matches Malone Says:

Ok, I have several blogs wherein I rant randomly, and the answers to your questions can be found here: http://thoughtsotheday.blogspot.com/2009/02/twitter-survey-that-im-taking.html. I hope I haven’t been too predictable :) I’ll admit in advance that I may have copped out on the last one….

  35. Julie Bestry Says:

Michelle, although most people use a tickler file for themselves rather than sharing, I’ve had quite a few business partners and spouses share them, too. The best way for you and Luke to remember to check the Tickler file is the same way you remember to brush your teeth, lock the door, make the bed…develop it as part of a ritual. For example, I have clients who are business partners who start every day with “Coffee and Jeeves” (Jeeves being what they’ve named the Tickler file because they feel it’s like having their own personal butler announce their appointments/tasks-as-visitors). Married couples can create an evening, post-dinner ritual. Eat dinner, clear the table, wash/dry/put away…and then review the Tickler File together at the newly-cleaned table. To keep you from forgetting, how about setting a special ringtone or alarm to alert you. At the end of the George Lopez show, in the “vanity card” (the production company’s “ID” card that comes after the credits), they show a sonogram with a “voiceover” of a baby laughing. Laughing=tickling=great audio reminder to check the tickler file. You could make that the alert on your Blackberry. Or, y’know, whatever. :-)

It’s unlikely that you, shared, will have more than a few tasks to review for the next day. (While I advice using the Tickler file in the morning, to get a handle on the upcoming day, assuming you guys are rushing in the morning, it might make sense for you to “preview” the next day the evening beforehand).

  36. Rebecca Stees Says:

Yes! I’d like five extra light spicy dollops of juicy question dumplings!

  37. admin Says:

Yes ma’am! Can’t promise that they’re going to be light, though – unless you get the steamed dumplings (ba duh bum).

    5 questions for Rebecca:
    * Who was your childhood hero?
    * What’s your best camp experience (either running one or attending one)?
    * If you got to pick only 5 albums to take with you on a deserted island, what would they be?
    * What’s the top item on your To Do list right now?
    * What do you do when you want to make a wish?

Can’t wait to see your answers on your blog! Comment back when they’re up with the link. Enjoy!

  38. admin Says:

Thanks for the comment, Julie! I think the best way to do it is for me to check it out the night before, and then tell Luke what to do. Or just hog the Tickler all to myself. I do like naming it Jeeves (I love naming inanimate objects – I’m weird like that), though!

  39. admin Says:

Here are 5 questions for Rock, Read, Roam, who said “I’m in!” via Twitter:

    * Winter, spring, summer, or fall – and why?
    * What’s the worst thing about being an entrepreneur, and how do you overcome it?
    * If you could be a movie character, who would you be and why?
    * Rock, read, or roam – and why? (Yes, one must prevail!)
    * If you had to throw a party this month, who would it be for and why?

Looking forward to the release of your blog in another 2 weeks! Make sure you comment back with the link when it’s up. Have fun!

  40. admin Says:

Here are 5 questions for Jeff Cole, another twiend:

    * Which part of you usually wins out: The Irish or The Jew?
    * If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
    * If you had a time machine, when would you go to and why?
    * If you were forced to spend 40 hours a week on doing just one activity, what would it be?
    * When God greets you at the pearly gates, what would you like him/her to say? (And yes, I stole this from James Lipton)

If you have a blog, it would be great if you post the answers there & I can link back to ya. If not, then just answer them in the comments section below. Enjoy!

  41. Jeff Cole Says:

    1. Depends on the situation. I am amalgamation of the two. Sometimes I really need a glass of Red Breast Whisky and to sing Whiskey in the Jar. Other times I need to daven and study Talmud. Remember, both cultures hold scholars in very high regard. Both also live by the motto of why tell the truth when you can tell a story.

    2. Two places. The west of Ireland for its beauty and the people. Plus, I love the music. Israel because I love the country and I wouldn’t be a minority. Both countries honor writers and poets.

    3. Hmm, tough one. I think to Lincoln’s second inaugural. I would love to hear him deliver the Malice toward speech. He was our greatest president. Second place would be to Sinai to see the 10 commandments come from Sinai.

    4. Easy, writing fiction.

    5. That I did my best in everything I did.

  42. admin Says:

Thanks for the great answers, Jeff! I especially like the last one.

  43. Joanne Hunold Says:

Finished my interview. Gee, that was fun and enlightening even for myself. Here’s the link:
    http://www.overwhelmingsuccess.com/2009/02/who-do-you-know-like-trust.html

  50. Marieke Kramer Says:

    Hi Michelle,

Would love to participate, although a little anxious about the questions…

Ahhh… Feel the fear and do it anyway…

    Ok let’s do it!

    Marieke

  51. admin Says:

Yay – a fellow ICAer! Thanks so much for joining in the fun, Marieke! And I promise that it won’t hurt a bit.

    Here are your questions:

    * Is living life to the max an emotional experience, a physical experience, or both? Why?
    * If you could only take 3 books with you to a deserted island, what would they be and why?
    * What instills a feeling of calm within you?
    * If you had an “evil” twin, what would her name be & what would she do?
    * If you had to live in a museum, which one would you pick and why?

I swear, these questions keep getting weirder……:)

  52. Marieke Kramer Says:

    Hi Michelle,

Well here they are… My answers
    * Living life to the Max, for me, personally is an emotional as well as a physical experience…
The feeling of BEING ALIVE, the energy pumping through your body, knowing you are creating and living the life you have always wanted, is something you feel in your body, mind and soul…
Great ideas popping up in your head, an abundance of energy to go out and actually achieve your goals, the immense smile on your face when feeling this alive and happy!!!

*The 3 books would be; The SAS survival guide (how to survive on a deserted island), A Long Walk to Freedom; the autobiography of Nelson Mandela and Land of the Living by NicciFrench (absolutely brilliant book, so scary I had to remind myself to breath during the first couple of pages!)

*I feel most calm when I realize that everything is exactly the way it’s suppose to be.

*The name of my evil twin is Donna Michaela Corleone, she’s the head of a very large “family”…

    * The thought of having to life in a museum and thus being locked up really, really freaks me out…., but you are probably going to force me to pick one… so I would say the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam… Because it is absolutely gorgeous, big and it is in Amsterdam, my hometown… I miss Amsterdam….

Well thanks for this great experience… Loved the questions and the thought process it provoked!
    Thanks Michelle!

  53. admin Says:

I LOVE your evil twin – that gave me a great laugh. I think my evil twin’s name would be Michelina and she would ONLY do things that served herself without considering anyone else (insert evil laugh here)!

And you’re a smartie for bringing that SAS Book. I never would have thought of that! I’m Googling “Land of the Living” now, BTW….

  54. Marieke Kramer Says:

Hahahaha… (evil laugh)!!! Wouldn’t it be grat to allow yourself to live like your evil twin just for one day… ???

HIGHLY recommend that book! Have been looking all over for NicciFrench here in the USA, but just can’t find them… Amazone doesn’t have them, nore does Barnes and Nobles or Borders…. If you can get your hands on them, do not hesitate… They are all very good. Land of the Living is just my personal favorite…

  55. admin Says:

It WOULD be! And I do think that everyone’s evil twin is different……

I saw that book on Amazon and it is SCARY! I’m a wuss – I don’t know if I can handle it….And BTW, Amazon has it, just from other sellers. You can get a new copy for $4 including shipping! http://is.gd/jch9

This is for Linda DeLuca, another coach extraordinaire & ICAer!

    * What’s your favorite color & what does it symbolize for you?
    * What do you do when you see that it’s started to snow?
    * If you had to drink only one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
    * What fear do you have that you most want to get over?
    * What would you say in your six-word memoir? If you need help, go here: http://is.gd/ahOv

Have fun! Can’t wait to read your answers!

  57. Linda DeLuca Says:

    Wow…these are great questions.
I’m going to have to ponder a bit.
Thanks for the help on the memoir question ;-)
    Stay tuned!

This is for Susan Strayer, a fellow career coach! If the questions were weird earlier, they’ll be doozies at 3:30p! Don’t be scared, Susan:

    * What’s the oddest job you ever had?
    * Which pair of shoes is your favorite (yes, you have to pick a favorite)?
    * If you could ask your favorite political figure (living or dead) one question, who would it be and what would you ask?
    * If you had to spend the rest of your life in a movie, which movie would it be and why?
    * What was the best piece of advice you ever received?

This is for Alain Theriault (there should be an accent over the “e”, but if my keyboard can do it I don’t know how to make it), the Startup Coach:

    * What is the most common thing that most start-ups lack when they’re, uh, starting? Please replace that word “thing” with whatever word you want.
    * What’s the most energizing thing you’ve done this year, thus far?
    * If you could wish on a star and have it come true, what would you wish?
    * What’s your best joke? Keep it clean – or not.
