Tough (Question) Tuesday: What are you putting off that would contribute significantly to your well being?
This is supposed to be a quizzical swan. But don’t swans just always look like that? How do you know when they’re not quizzical?
OK, I admit it: I totally stole this question from Carrie and Danielle. But how could I not? It was short, concise, and made me think. It was a perfect Tough (Question) for Tuesday!

Exercise! It was one thing when I was getting married, and it was warm out, & I was motivated to wake up at 6:30a and run outside so I can look all svelte and sexy-like for 10 days of bathing suits in Hawaii. Now, it’s cold & dark at 6:30a, and while I can run inside on a treadmill in the basement of our building (I don’t even have to go outside!) the motivation is gone (as I’ve remained fairly svelte and sexy-like from the honeymoon). But I feel like an out of shape unhealthy old lady!
I will COMMIT to running three times a week – twice in the mornings and once on the weekend. AND taking a yoga class or buying a DVD so that I can stretch! A personal trainer once told me I was the unstretchiest person he’s ever come across so I need it.

Thanks for mentioning the C&D site – much appreciated!
What am I putting off? Hmmm. Exercise is a great one, actually – I find it so hard to get up and jog around the block when I am so tired, the sky is so grey, the wind is so strong, yadi yadi yada – always a different reason!
Sleep is another biggie – I find a lot of joy in productivity, and unfortunately a lot of the time that means that sleep gets sacrificed.

Thanks for the comment, Candy!
It seems like we’re in the same exercise corner. After answering this question earlier in the week, I decided to commit myself to this & woke up an hour early to hit the treadmill. Yes, it was not as exciting to wake up when it was still dark & run in place in a windowless basement with Sports Center on (damn weightlifting dude that got there first) as it is to be outside running next to the Hudson River, but the end result was the same – a feeling of accomplishment, energy, and healthiness. Healthiness? Yeah, healthiness.
If you’re someone that can thrive on limited sleep, I say go for it! But if not, don’t fool yourself – sleep is something that you & your body need! I also looooooove sleep so I’m shocked when others don’t relish it!
