Tough (Question) Tuesday: What will you make room for?

Make room for your life – Postcard set by emcee

This might seem absolutely counter-intuitive to last week’s Tough (Question) Tuesday, but when you take something off of your plate, it’s because you want to make room for something else. And as a slightly hippy-dippy life coach (I’ll never be fully hippy-dippy, or at least I’ll never admit that I am if I become it), I like to think about what you’re committing to bring into your life as opposed to what you want to kick out of it. Feels happier, brighter, positive-er to me.

Today, I commit to making room for breaks – places to breathe, to explore, to think, to grow. I commit to actually putting things on my calendar so they aren’t stolen away from me, & in following through with them  – not forever (scary!), but just for this week. My journal is calling me, & I’m gonna answer the phone & talk for a while.

What will you make room for?

Post your answer in the comments for commitment & support. It’s nice there. I promise.

I'm committing to making room for exercising, giving daily thanks, daily brain dumps & writing :) Is that too much? I like your idea of daily breaks too. I think they're important for resetting and unleashing creativity. And on that note thanks for a great Tough Tuesday post!

I will make room for experimentation (with schedule, creating, etc.), play, and commitment. Plain old commitment to the things that I would like to accomplish. I think if I make room for it (including room to welcome it), it won't feel quite so scary.

Thanks for the replies, Melina & "Olive"!

@Melina – In the terms of "is it too much", only you know that one! :) Just remember that there are 7 days in a week & 30/31 in a month, so spread it out, sistah! Experiment 'til you find what works best for you.

@Olive & Hope – Yes, commitment can be so scary! I think you can swap it with those other "funner" words, experimentation & play!
