And the winner of the 2nd Annual When I Grow Up Coach Scholarship is…
I promise that I’m not trying to pulling a Ryan Seacrest on you (that guy bugs the crapballs out of me), but I just could not get what I wanted to share/express with you effectively on paper. So, I spent all morning (literally – it took 90 minutes & about 10 takes) taping a video that gets it all out there, with the name of the winner at the end. However, think of it more as a secret message to all the applicants, since there’s awesomeness within for everyone that applied.
And off we go!

Why are you all so freakin' amazing? Because seriously, the second I posted that video I was shaking. And now I'm feeling calmer, better, still even much touched & humbled than before, if that's possible. Thank you, ladies, for making this one of the Top 3 toughest decisions in my 32 years. You're all amazeballs & I look forward to getting to know each & every one of you better, & doing whatever I can to ease your journey. Your kind words & awesomeness mean the world!

while i'm disappointed that i didn't hear my name- i'm so excited about getting a reply to the application AND the group coaching rate! i got emotional at the point in the video when you said to not let this be the end. you're right. i felt like you were speaking to me. this may be the great cosmic push i need.
May 12th, 2010 at 9:32 am
Congratulations to the winner! And thank you Michelle for still giving us a piece of you and your spirit. How incredibly generous of you. Can't wait for the next email
May 12th, 2010 at 10:15 am
Congrats to the lucky winner! And yes, just submitting my application (even though I didn't win) was a pretty cool experience – I don't think I'd ever voiced my dreams and obstacles in quite that way before … Fun!
May 12th, 2010 at 10:59 am
it is people like you who inspire people like me to get in front of the fear. you are awesome as are all the people who applied (and that includes me!) …. how could anyone be "mad" because they were not picked? don't give it another thought and keep doing what you are doing
May 12th, 2010 at 11:13 am
i didn't enter the contest because i'm about to start a different program, but listened to your entire video and you are the dearest person. i've worked in management consulting firms and you seem to have the personality that is perfect for a coach. genuinely caring. i hope people take you up on your offer. it's not easy to take responsibility for our lives and make a change. we could take a misstep and that's scary. sometimes, it's easier to play the blame game and be a victim, but we all like to feel we have some control over our lives and living in that victim place is so stressful. congrats to the winner and everyone else who will receive a personalized email from you!

Great video Michelle! Congrats to the winner!

I adore you even more after watching that video Michelle! You are amazing. Thank you for taking the time to look over each and every one of our applications, and for investing yourself enough in us to think of a way offer your continued support. You are (as you would say) amazeballs, my friend. And congrats to the winner!!!!
May 12th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
Michelle, you are too sweet! I agree with many of the other posters… your website and enthusiasm are fabulous resources for those of us that were not selected and to think you added in a personal e-mail to each of us…. well that is just so amazing! Thank you. I look forward to your e-mail!
Congrats to the winner!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for running this scholarship contest. I did not win. Sad. I did take the step and apply. WIN! I have to wait for a personal note with your thoughts on what i sent. Sad. I GET A PERSONAL NOTE to help me focus on what my next step should be! Win!! Can't wait to hear from you, Michelle, and can't wait to look back on all of this and know that this moment was the start of Very Good Things Indeed ™.
Congrats, Kate!

Everything you do, you do with such sincerity and compassion. GORGEOUS! I wish I had been eligible to enter, just so I could have the privilege of not winning. : )

Michelle – I just watched the video, and am so proud of myself for having had the courage to apply. Who are you that you can make someone you've never met feel so good about themselves?
I am very excited to be getting an email from you with information and questions. And I like how you will be MAD at us if we stop here. You're right, we all obviously want to change something in our lives, and want to move forward in all the ways we outlined in our applications – it would be a mistake to only take this one step. I now need to take the second step. Thank you so much for that lesson.
PS I'm still a little jealous of the winner!

Congrats to the winner! Haha I agree with the other people above me…. I was disappointed when I didn't hear my name (for some reason I felt like I was going to win. But it's okay! Montreal won the series tonight! GO HABS GO!! Haha.) but I'm glad whoever won, won! (Haha I don't want to ruin it!! I was at a computer earlier today without sound and I couldn't watch the video, but I didn't want to read the comments incase someone said who won!! Haha.) And I was so happy to hear that you are going to e-mail everyone who applied! Seriously, so happy… haha. I can't wait to get my e-mail from you. I will definitely be replying. And this e-mail made me so happy.. you seem to LOVE what you do so much and you are so into it… that's awesome. I wish the best to the winner, and I know you will help them achieve their dreams! I'll be in touch!!

Kudos to you! Thanks for the resources you offer and the time you put in, I know it's way more than we think. Thanks also for what you're offering to the applicants, I'm intrigued!
Also, huge congrats to the winner! (I feel so good about not winning b/c of the way you sincerely prefaced things before announcing the winner =) *not that i'm usually a sore loser or something, ha ha! =P

May 13th, 2010 at 6:28 am
Congratulations to the winner!
We're all winners though, it's like we all got second place. Even though I didn't "win" it was a great exercise for me to write down some of the things I've been thinking.
Thank you for this opportunity Michelle. Thank you for your time, energy and kindness.
May 13th, 2010 at 8:07 am
Congratulations to the the winner! And to you, too, Michelle! You offer us so much here in your blog and in your monthly newsletters. I'm so happy for the successes you're having; you're such a great example for us all.
May 13th, 2010 at 9:36 am
Congrats to the winner! I'm a little bummed I didn't win, but am SO excited to get an email from you and the opportunity to participate in group coaching. Thanks for being you, Michelle!
May 13th, 2010 at 10:00 am
I'm so excited for the winner – she is in for quite the treat!
Thanks for even offering the chance to apply – it was great to get down in words everything that's been bouncing around in there. And the "Why are you awesome" question was a great exercise in self-love.
Also, you are a powerhouse! 150+ personal emails in like 10 days? Wowza. I can't wait to read mine
May 13th, 2010 at 10:30 am
I wrote all you guys a (love) fable today. Your comments & awesomeness just blew me away & was so, so touching. I can't thank you enough. I wanna respond to each one of you here, but don't push it – I have 153 emails to write in 11 days!
Talk to y'all soon!
May 14th, 2010 at 1:03 am
I'm very happy for the winner!! Congratulations!!
Michelle, please don't feel guilty for not being able to help all of us. Taking the time to think about the questions you asked (especially the "Why are you awesome?" question – that's one I need to focus on more often) and adding to the self-exploration I'm continuing with was invaluable to me. I'm looking forward to receiving your e-mail.

I knew there was a reason why I resonated with you and the answer is the book behind you in this video. "The monster at the end of this book!" GROVER!! DON'T TURN THE PAGE!!!!! Oh my heart you level just went up a notch.

Kerilyn – The goal was to have my "business books" be prominent. As you can tell, that didn't really work. Or did it?
March 31st, 2011 at 11:35 am
WTH, you made me cry! You are so sincere and sweet.
April 6th, 2011 at 4:52 am
Oh my gosh you have me at that Monster at the end of this book.. book. Every Single Time.
