@Alexandra - Ya sure Annie won't mind? You're gonna woo yourself good! :)

@Tiffany - Ya wanna hear the epiphany I had recently? Downtime leads to me being my most productive/creative. It goes against anything I've ever believed, but I absolutely know it to be true!

@Michele - Amen! That's why I turn to journaling whenever I'm facing a challenge. Just getting my thoughts down on paper & going through them leads to clarity / a boost. And trust! That alone can be a whole 'nother question. Why do we make it so difficult to trust ourselves? We're ridiculous.

@Emily - Both an internal & external boost. Love it!

@Maggie - Hooray for new perspectives! Isn't it empowering to think that there are no Wrong decisions? Why yes, yes it is.

@Jess - I love that too, too much. Ya sure you're not a life coach? :)

@Natalie - Is there a way for you to keep a visual reminder of the Why within eyesight as you work? I find it's so helpful in taking the burden off yourself to do all the remembering. I love keeping your eye on the Why (& it rhymes!).

Take time to "feed my soul" and indulge in the things I love. When I get in a slump, it's usually because life and frustration have become more prominent in my mind than the reasons I'm working towards my goals. If I remind myself of why I was doing the thing in the first place, it's usually enough to get me out of my slump and back to doing it!

Awhile back, during a particularly trying time, I sat down and wrote an earnest love letter -- to myself. I wrote as if I was writing to a dear friend; about courage and grace, and the futility of worrying about limitations. These are sunnier days, for sure, but coming back to that love letter gives me the boost I need when I'm grasping for straws.

My boost actually came yesterday, in the midst of anxiety and second-guessing a decision that I finally got off my rump to make. I finally allowed myself to recognize that there are lots of "right" decisions that all just lead us in slightly different paths. In my situation, there really was no clear WRONG decision, so I need to see that and let. it. go. Sick of wasting energy on things that aren't black and white and could go either way and still turn out FINE. So yay, boost.

Great question, Michelle. It's exactly the question I need to be asked today. I'm thinking that in this moment, the way in which I can give myself a boost comes in two forms 1)remind myself that I have choices and that life is fluid and 2) get my parents and siblings on ichat and have a good ol' laugh with the family.

COMMUNICATION. I've found that by stating my issue / what I need help with (whether at work or in my personal life) clears the path for me to make that jump over the moon. Often times I don't really even need assistance from folks ... I just need to verbalize things to clear my head and then go for it. Trusting in myself often times is all the boost that I need.

I like the asking for help piece. I just did that with something last night, and it felt really good! And I can also give myself a boost by taking a break. It's okay to schedule some down time every now and then.

Jamiroquai. Votive Candles. Moderate amounts of wine. In other words, taking myself on a date. ;)

I can give myself a boost by asking for help! I'm putting a lot on the shoulders of 1 person right now, & it's not sitting well with me. I need to spread the help around!
