Tough (Question) Tuesday: What are you going to do for yourself today?

OK, I admit it: I ditched my Me Time this weekend. There was just no time for Me to be found in my Sunday, heavy with a hangover & Things To Do. And while I know those 90 minutes would have been much-needed, I chucked them away. Even Luke said to me, “It’s your Me Time now” (I put it on my calendar, so it pops up on our computer a few minutes beforehand) & I responded, “I know. It’s just not going to happen.”
So today, on a random Tuesday, for no special occasion, I’m going to give myself that Me Time. Not that 90 minutes – that would be too tough, & too easy to let go – but something, whatever I can do. I’ll share what it’ll be in the comments & hope that you answer my tough question there, too:
What are you going to do for yourself today?

This is a tough one, because I have a lot on my plate for today! But, I do solemnly swear that I will take a bubble bath tonight. I've been ignoring The Call of the Bubbles for too long, & it's time to indulge!

Great question! I realized recently that within the past two years, I somehow lost all "Me Time". I felt like every minute, I was running around with Work, Obligations, Responsibilities, etc. So I started rediscovering my very own interests. Sorry for the monologue, but I have come to love and cherish Me Time. Tonight, I plan on knitting amigurumi stuffed sea creatures for my new niece! I can't wait.

Today, I'm going to let myself change my mind and not push myself to do something that I thought I wanted to do, but have realized I don't want to. It's better to realize it now, than to do something because you feel obligated and don't have your heart in it. I'll instead focus on the things that I DO want to commit to, and put my time and effort into those things instead. Oh, and forgive myself and not care

@Laura – No apologies necessary – I love Me Time too! If I were President I'd make weekly Me Time mandatory. And power naps. I would so win. And how cute does an amigurumi stuffed sea creature sound?! (Answer: very cute)
@Marissa – That is no small feat – I love it! I was actually just talking to my life coach last night, & realize that I'm harder on myself than anyone. So, my new question to ask myself is, "Am I being nice to myself?" (Reveal: this'll probably be next week's Tough (Question) Tuesday!) If the answer isn't anything other than a quick "Yes" I look deeper. I like the thought of not beating myself up.

Michelle, I think most people are harder on themselves! I actually looked in my mirror and pretended that I was giving advice to one of my friends, and told myself to get over myself
Ha!
I love that you have a life coach too. I seriously need to become one of your clients one day
You rock!

Tonight I get Me Time! I'm pretty excited. Most Wednesday nights Ryan has guy's night and leaves me to my own devices. And tonight I don't have too many pressing tasks to fill it up. I'm thinking I might pop in a movie and make some buttery popcorn. Maybe paint my toes. Be girly! Going to rush through the tasks I really need to finish to allow for AMPLE Me Time.
Hope you enjoyed your bubble bath! Sounds heavenly!

@Mariss – That's such a great tactic! I love the thought of seeing yourself as someone else, & telling you/her what your/her friend would say. I'm so stealing that as an exercise. And YES PLEASE to working together – I'll be here whenever you're ready!
@Maggie – Love to hear about your Me Time! Any way to make it more sporadic? It seems like you have a free night weekly – take advantage, lady! Even if it's a Me Hour, it still totally counts. And yes, my bubble bath was the bomb. Fo sho'.
