When I saw the Always/Never post on Emma Alvarez Gibson’s blog, I knew I had to steal it for my own (& credit her, of course!). Partly because writing a “real” post (sentences & thru-lines & grammar, oh my!) has been hard for me lately (both time-wise & brain-wise), but mostly because it is so simple yet conveys so much. Thanks for the awesomeness (always!), Emma!
Here’s my list:
ALWAYS:
- color (the brighter, the better – especially shoes)
- the beach
- the first iced coffee day
- Broadway musicals with my Mom
- stars
- hair down
- kitten heels
- boxing (in a wussy way)
- sleeping in
- cherries
- coconut ices from a street vendor

- Girls Night Out
- improv & sketch comedy
- being in super-duper-ridiculous love
- staying true to your dreams, no matter how often they change
- being the character actress/belting

NEVER:
- black (OK, not never, but really only in pants)
- experimental theater
- upside down roller coasters (gulp)
- marathon running
- Starbucks
- hair up
- little tiny clutches
- wearing glasses (if I can help it)
- not feeling like I have a say in my own darnfalootin’ life
- having an unfulfilling career
- tanning
- being the ingenue/soprano
- fitting into The Mold
- athletic sneakers outside of the gym

I loved reading these… I'd love to see everybody do one, actually. It's fascinating stuff! And I must confess (I'll do it on my site, too) that I was inspired by a Tweet that @gwenbell made about this type of list.

Here are a few to get me started…
Always: hugs, mascara, smile, have goals, laughter, hold hands, respect, kiss good night, send handwritten notes, be true to yourself, say "I Love You"
Never: say never, disrespect, give up on a dream, think you are better, white pants, white shoes

Your lists are awesome, Paige & Lacretia! I think my Always/Never List is going to be constantly changing…The more lists I see, the more I'm like, "I should include that! And that! Oh, and that!" I think it might live as a Blog Page (in addition to this post) instead….Hmmmm….
