Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely have to check them out. In fact I think I might brave the Carrey factor just to see Munchausen by Proxy (which is just the funniest, cleverest name, too). I posted the video to my Facebook page and said this was the kind of band I need to start and one of my colleagues said if I could find the seahorse hats she would definitely be in. Excellent!

Aren't they great? There are 4 songs by them on the soundtrack, but I wish there was more! If you like Zooey's voice, I highly recommend "She & Him", the band she's in with M.Ward. Their debut album is in constant rotation in my house! And "ditto" & "amen" to the rest of your comment, K.A.! I love seeing adults doing something just for the love of it. It's a rarity, that's for sure!

I have a new favourite band! Munchausen by Proxy is a great concept and though I'm not a big Carrey fan, I loved seeing the clips.

This is something I have railed about for ages: the professionalisation of music and art. People think that if they're not "good enough" to be a major success, it's not worth doing. It *is* worth doing because creating is such a joy. People would be so much happier if they were saying yes to the creative urges inside. So what if no one else enjoys it – or you can address your entire audience by name! – you will love it.

One of the things the internet is helping to bring back is that DIY joyfulness. A blog costs nothing but your time and you never know what friends you may find because of it!

I wholeheartedly agree about the movie, Lisa. It was cute enough & perfect to watch on a day when you want something sweet/silly, but Zooey's character kept the wheels turning for me long after the movie ended. Love!

I loved this movie, not because it was particularly clever, but because of the YES message and because of the character of Allison. The photography running group still makes me laugh out loud. Now I want to see it again, just for a refresher.
