Yup - consider yourself accountable, Nicole! Seems to me, though, that you have a feasible, fleshed-out plan (love that you took the goal of paying off all the bills & pared it down to something manageable & realistic). With your kick-ass attitude I know your debt & your waist will dwindle by 2010!

If you find, though, that you need help with your goal setting, I wanted to point you toward my post entitled, "<a href="http://whenigrowupcoach.com/blog/2009/01/08/goals-should-hav e-chutzpah-just-like-you/" rel="nofollow">Goals Should Have CHUTZPAH, Just Like You!</a>" It might help you fill in the blanks if you find yourself getting stuck.

Okay, I've finally come up with two.

Goal #1.) At the beginning of the year, I was determined to pay off all of my bills this year (with the exception of my student loan, which is still too large for me to believe that I could actually do it right now). I really only have 3 debts, and they aren't HUGE, so it seemed reasonable. So far, financially, this has not been a great year for me. As the months have ticked by, I have given up on that goal altogether. But there's time left... I could sit down with my pencil & figure out how to get ONE of these bills fully-paid by year's end, and just hammer away at it for the next 5 months.

Goal #2.) I want to get fit. Like "athlete" fit. I HAVE to work out (to support my eating habit). I was doing GREAT until I had to let go of my personal trainer, THEN I hurt my ankle. I can't do weight-bearing exercises yet, so I've been half-heartedly riding a stationery bike twice a week, but that bores me to bits. I have re-committed to watching my caloric intake and riding the bike with a good magazine at least 4 days a week for at least 30 minutes at a time. I can do that.

This makes me publicly accountable, huh?

Thanks for the reasoning, Nicole. I was wondering why this space has been vacant, too - it's such a popular series! - but I was thinking the opposite (in a whiny voice): "This question's no gooooood! Everyone's too busy to visit my bloooog!" It's good to know that my scary question has scared everyone away. That sits much better with me :)

I don't get a response with your comment though, Nicole (hint hint nudge nudge)...

I keep checking back here to see other peoples' responses. My guess would be that nobody else has posted yet because a.) (read in a whiny voice) This question is reeeeeaaalllly haaaard! & b.) We know that once we put it in writing, we have to do something about it.

You have some great questions and food for thought. Scared of this one, though.

Sing your heart out, lady!

If I'm honest from myself, I've walked away from my singing, and I want it back. Since I don't do musicals regularly - although I do sing the theme song from whatever TV show we're doing in Luke's shows - & I know I don't have the time/interest to put together a cabaret show at this time, & I don't want to spend $75/pop for a singing lesson so that I have the time/opportunity to sing....Huh. It's tough, because I'm also self-conscious of singing in my apartment. I'm loud, and the walls are thin. But now that I think about it, we heard someone in my hallways playing the electric guitar (at 10:30p on a Tue - yes, we practically live in a dorm), but once we were in the living room we didn't hear it. If I go into the bedroom & shut the door, I think I can belt my brains out. I'm gonna give myself 30 min/week to sing whatever I want, however I want.
