Wow, Michelle – This quote is so powerful. I needed to read it tonight – thank you!

That quote is totally staying with me. "What do I want to be when I grow up?" "Happy." Sigh.

That is such a fantastic quotation. It is very powerful, but it also made me laugh out loud. It reminds me of that part in Drop Dead Gorgeous when the girl had a ball of twine on her head and cries, "I think I misunderstood the assignment!" If you haven't seen the movie, that probably doesn't make much sense. Haha. Anyway, that aside, I am often interested to hear about situations when people are told they "misunderstood the assignment" because so often, it's really just that they had an amazingly creative response to the "assignment" and are simply misunderstood by everyone else! Thanks Michelle!

I have seen the movie, but not since it was in theaters – which means I remember next to nothing! But I totally get the gist of what you mean, Caitlin. I'm definitely finding that out in the Wreck This Journal book club I'm participating in this summer, as in I'm looking for ways to "misunderstand" the assignment! That's definitely where creativity comes from, and we're not "allowed" to do it often enough at all.
