Cleaning House (not literally)

Snatch up lots of great Pulp Fiction items – like this carrying case – from tofunkytown.
While I should be Roomba-ing and banishing my boots to my shoe box (peep-toes & flip-flops, here we come!), I’m here on my blog. Not only because I love all y’all & want to say, “Howdy!” (OK, not “Howdy”…Jews from Long Island don’t say “Howdy”), but because I realized I didn’t put up a Sunshine Sunday post today. I thought, “Is 8:42p too late for Sunshine Sunday?” and rushed to the computer. I opened my account & went to my Sunshine Sunday draft and sighed. It is too late. And I’m not able to think after a day spent in the sun & an hour in the bath.
Honestly, I just didn’t want to write it.
And here’s where I come clean to you, my loyal readers who I’ve grown to know and love. I want to give you more….of me. Of my voice, my thoughts, my views, my finds, my encouragement and how tos……and I want to hear your thoughts from my thoughts. And that’s just not happening with 4 weekly columns & the once weekly “personal” post.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve grown to love me some Motivation Mondays & Tough (Question) Tuesdays (& from your survey responses, so have you). Sunshine Sundays are fun, but it’s tough for me to get to them on the weekend – especially with the sun making more of an appearance than she has been! I love passing on the links in Freakin’ (Great Links) Friday, but it takes a lot of time and energy to comb through all The Usual Suspects to get you that weekly series. Time & energy that I could be spending on giving you the meat & potatoes! The bread & butter! The macaroni & cheese! The peanut butter & jelly!
And that’s silly.
So, I’m cleaning house. Thankfully it does not involve any literal housework, because I suck at that. But it does consist of renaming & consolidating my Pages & Categories (see the sidebar at right), and scaling back on my series. When I find a Freakin’ (Great Link), I’ll tweet it & add it to my Favorites feed. When I find a Freakin’ Awesome Link – one that catches my breath or makes me think or is beautiful or funny or artistic or creative – then I’ll write about it here. Whenever I want.
Motivation Mondays & Tough (Question) Tuesdays are still close to my heart. I love sharing my finds to add some pep to your week, and putting out those questions are as thought-provoking for me as they are for you! These two series will probably still live on in weekly posts, but if you don’t see them, know that the reason why is because there’s something even more rockin’ in the works.
With my Blogthday getting closer and closer (May 4th!), I’m discovering more & more who I am as the author of When I Grow Up: The Blog. Or maybe I’m just discovering more & more about Growing Up?
Whoa, that was deep.
While we’re here and I’m reassing things, I want to make another plea for all your amazingly amazing readers out there to take my blog survey. You can do it out of the kindness of your heart, or because you have 5 minutes to kill, or because I’ll bribe you with booty. I’d appreciate your feedback for every & all reasons.
(Long pause)
Guess I gotta clean the apartment now. Maybe I will write that Sunshine Sunday post after all…….

I see you're taking some advice from class!
I think you'll really love how freeing this is. Magchunk is also getting a makeover in the next few weeks. I can't wait. Isn't it exciting? I feel like a whole new blogger!
(Happy b-day, by the way! Mine's coming up on the 15th! Yay for May babies!)

Ha! If I was upset by your exclamation points, I'd be the biggest hypocrite – it's all I use! See! I've used 3 in 3 sentences! Now it's 4! I must stop!
Yes, I am SO taking some advice from the class, but it's tough work at the same time! I can't tell you how much time I put into renaming my Pages & Categories, & then recategorizing my posts (I'm still not done). But lemme tell ya, it's worth it. I'm excited for the next chapter, & for making the decision to "drop" my weekly series. OK, not "drop", but to use them as needed. It's a relief!
Can't wait to see the new version of Magchuck! Your blog is awesome already so I'm excited to see what else you can do with it.
Happy almost birthday! I wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't MY birthday, but my blog's! I'm a weirdo.

Yeah, I totally missed that it's your blog birthday and not YOUR birthday. That's still exciting though!
