You’ve won the lottery. No, really! You’ve won it. It’s yours. $27 million means you take home, what, $11 million at least? Now, ask yourself:

What would you do if you had $11 million? (And try not to censor yourself).

As I’m still enjoying my weekend (don’t be jealous), I won’t be the first one to answer the question. So please, one of you beautiful, brave, witty, insightful, gorgeous readers take the lead! I’ll catch up with ya later.

Hey! If I had that $, I really would buy a "handicapped" van for my 9 year old son. We don't travel around much b/c now, I transfer him in and out of the chair, to the car, back blah blah – and throw the chair in the back. I have two other smallish kids, so it gets to be a hassle.

Then, I'd pay off debt, fund the balance of my older kid's college, maybe pay cash for a small/medium house and invest the rest – yes invest, b/c the market is at bargain basement prices right now. I may try to take a huge family vacation, too… like to Europe. DisneyWorld in Japan or France…ahhh to dream =)

Oh boy oh boy! $11 million smackeroos. Just going to let this roll out of my brain…

    - Pay off all debt.

    - Sell our cars & purchase hybrid vehicles, slightly used if possible to avoid buying yet another brand new thing.

    - Help family members out of debt.

    - Find four-five environment- and animal-related charities to support.

    - Invest, somewhere…

    - TRAVEL PLAY PLAY PLAY!!!

I'll take on this challenge. $11 Million will certainly get my wellness empire off the ground. I will buy up the area around my little farm and make it a much bigger sustainable agriculture farm, then I will landscape it into a healing retreat environment (xeriscaped to accomodate low water requirements, of course). My wellness center will be "center-stage" complete with personal chef in the kitchen making healthy lucious meals with ingredients from my farm. With the left over money, I will travel to cool places and attend trainings and workshops that expand my mind and allow me to provide the best possible experiences for my clients. Then we'll franchise!!!!

I would grab my wife and son, drive to an airport, figure out somewhere we could buy tickets to, fly there, get a room, then start exploring. When we were done with that place we would head out to the next one, and repeat. 6 months to a year would probably do it for a first endeavor.

After the first few hops around the globe I would buy myself an iPhone and start making the necessary calls to pay off the house, car, my parent's house, my sister's house, and probably drop some money on my two best friends who I have known since grade 7. Heck, I would be so excited I might even give some to my mother-in-law (oops, not very positive, and my wife would make me do that anyways).

After the year of just being rich it would be time to figure out how to make the money last and come up with some real forward thinking plans.

As a side note, up here in Canada, I would get the full $27 million, no tax on lottery winnings.

You guys are so freakin' awesome I can't take it. Thanks for jumping in & taking this journey! And Jeremie – I'm so considering moving to Canada now.

For me, I'd take $4m to buy & renovate a Brooklyn brownstone, making sure it has a yard, & a driveway, & stairs inside, & 2 real bathrooms with big tubs & a bright sunny place for me to coach (a sun room! with a great big plushy chair!) & a spot for Luke to build things & edit movies. I'd throw a car in there too. Take an extra $1m & buy a summer house on the beach. Which beach I'm not sure – just "the beach" is fine for now.

Then I'd take $3m & put it away. A year ago I would say I'd invest it, but now I'd make sure it's someplace "safe" so Luke & I don't "have" to work & our future kid(s) could be taken care of (but not spoiled!). I'd still spend my time coaching & blogging & performing because I love it. I'd start a theater too, & travel around the world, & give some money to charity. We'd take the remaining $2m & sprinkle it around to our family members so everyone gets to exhale a bit.

    I like this dream.
