I am still tweaking the site at the moment. The comments are actually controlled by the funny little shape that comes right after the date on each post (it kind of looks like a fancy S). I have found this in the code using firebug but can't figure out how to change it.

Once I get the tweaks done (I can be a bit obsessive about getting things the way I like) I will start adding more content.

Thanks for visiting the site!

Ah, you're an ICA newbie! That explains it. Loving it so far? I'm both excited and sad to be done....Have a feeling I'll come back to some classes once I've graduated, though. Love that about ICA.

Your blog looks awesome - such a great idea! I didn't see where you could comment, though, Jeremie. I want to spread the comment love around! I bookmarked your site & will definitely be coming back to it, but let me know when you have a new Action Day planned & I'll do my best to be there with ya!

Eddie is a nice name for a laptop. Or a dog. Or a person.

My last laptop was named "Eddie" so this laptop will have a name, it just needs to evolve naturally, I don't want to get it wrong.

The two of us are at opposite ends of our ICA training and opposite time zones so meeting in class probably isn't likely. You are writing finals and I am finishing foundation classes.

I just got my blog up and active this past weekend, and finished posting about my Blog Action Day today. I plan on having action hours and days on a fairly regular basis to help me, and hopefully others, get there work done. So keep an eye out maybe I'll have a Business plan or newsletter action day soon!

What's my reward for procrastinating the work I need to be doing? I get to do the things I want to do by giving myself "free time" instead of doing what I am supposed to be doing. The silly part is I am not creating any new free time, I am just moving my free time around. I give myself free time this afternoon but will have to finish my work later tonight, possibly in a panic.

What I need to do is use the advice I give my students for doing homework so I can get my "adult homework" done: set a timer for 40 minutes and work straight with no distractions, then take a 20 min break. Repeat until done the work, then enjoy my free time.

Ooooh, I love that this gets you into the "start your day with YOU" mode of intentionality, too, Michelle! Rock on, sistah!

Hmmm...something bad for me that I do pretty regularly is noid out in front of the computer screen instead of closing that sucker up and hanging out with my sweet husband (who's also noiding out in front of his computer screen...we have his'n'hers laptops!). What's my reward? Connection with lots of cool peeps on Twitter & Facebook & email, plus great inspiration & ideas via blogs I read (like, ahem, this one). :)

BUT, there's also the "reward" of taking the easy way out if there's something difficult that needs to be discussed with the hubster...like, "Oops! Look at the time! Obviously we can't have that conversation now, it's waaaay too late." Eeech.

SO, my renewed commitment is to leave my laptop in my office after 6:30 p.m. I was doing this for a while but slipped off the wagon. Thank you, Michelle, for this post, so I could re-commit to what I know will bring lots of life and vitality to my evenings! :D

Jeremie, you have to name your laptop! It's fun AND a great procrastination tool, too! I expect an update tomorrow at the latest. Goals, people!

Can I tell you that I, also, like to excuse my rabid blog-reading as "research" - especially if it's about coaching, marketing, entrepreneurship, creativity or is intended for "my audience." If I devoted half the time I read blogs to actually doing something (I can list 25 tasks here off the top of my head), then maybe I'd be a legal business with a budget, a business plan, and a newsletter by now! But if it wasn't for the blog posts, then what would I tweet? And where would "Freakin' (Great Links) Fri" go? It saddens me both ways. Have to find happy medium......

Thank you for giving me credit to an idea I got from someone else and have not officially shared with the blorld (that's "blogging world" in twitter talk) yet. I can tell we'll be quick friends. Why haven't we been in a class together? Lame.

My method of avoiding building my business IS my laptop (a brand new unibody Macbook which I bought "for the business"). I sit on my laptop (I haven't named this one yet) and cruise all sorts of internet marketing sights, listen to podcasts, read about blog products so that I don't actually HAVE to work on my marketing or blog. I try to kid myself that I am in a learning stage of how to build my business but if I don't actually use any of the information I am reading about it isn't overly helpful.

However, I think I can nicely deal with both my procrastination and my marketing avoidance with the same timer method of getting work done that I heard about in a blog tomorrow (ignore the time discrepancy and we will just pretend I got the idea from your post tomorrow).

My wife and I also do an excellent job of "laptopping" our way out of serious conversations so I can relate to that one too.

Oh yay Laura, I love this! I often sit next to my hubby with Annette (which is what Luke named my netbook) while Luke plays the Wii or watches TV or plays poker on his iPhone....and I sometimes give him a look like "huh? whatta we doing?" When I'm actually working it's one thing, but if I'm tweeting/posting/emailing/Facebooking I know it's time for Annette to say good night and have some quality time Wii-playing/TV-watching/card-playing with my man.

So you'll put the laptop away at 6:30p, and I'll set the alarm for 6:30a....scary but exciting!

As you can see Angela, we have very similar challenges! I think if I looked a bit deeper I would see past the sleep & to what you said so clearly: "A part of me actually is afraid of going out there, letting my light shine." Working a full-time job & taking classes at night (for just 1 more month!) doesn't give me the time to build my business, and I know the quiet morning hours would. While I'm careful not to burn myself out - and I'm someone that is known to sleep for 12 hours on a weekend when left to my own devices - I know that just 30 minutes in the morning can make a difference. But if I commit to that, well then I commit to building my business, and that's scary - even though I want it more than anything!

Oh my, I just thought about that one yesterday. The bad thing I do to myself is that I don't get up early enough in the morning. I perfectly know that when I get up early I get to work early and get a lot of stuff done. But each day I sleep a bit longer, and it gets later and later until I really get myself going.

What I win from this is something I wasn't aware of until yesterday: Cuddling under the blanket and going back to my dreams helps protecting me from the world and my work. A part of me actually is afraid of going out there, letting my light shine. And this part takes comfort from staying in bed too long.

What I need to do: acknowledge this part of me, acknowledge its anxiety, and comfort it in some other, appropriate way.
