Tough (Question) Tuesday: How am I going to celebrate this achievement?

Last week, I completed a big fat goal of mine – only 2 days past deadline. I’ve spent the last 4 days trying to come up with the “right” celebration. Yes, I know I have a running Celebration List but nothing that was on there seemed…right. A bath and some wine seemed ordinary, but tickets to a Broadway show seemed extravagent.

So join me in thinking about that goal you just reached, or the one that’s just around the corner – even if it’s not finished yet (especially if it’s not finished yet!). Then ask yourself:

How am I going to celebrate this achievement?

    Me first!

OK, I looked my achievement in the face and said, "Achievement, you are getting a massage!" Yes, my achievement knows I've been SAYING that I'm going to get a massage for months, and my achievement knows that I even built it in to my 101 Things in 1001 Days List, but my achievement ALSO knows that I'm too frugal to normally follow through with it! There's a place I've been meaning to go to near my apartment that is tre cheap, and it's an expense I can be OK with. And while all the stress is leaving my shoulders, I'll think "Ah, sweet celebration….."

    Michelle,

I like your idea of having a Celebration List (even though your current celebration is not on there). So instead of thinking of one specific celebration for one specific goal, I will (for myself) start my own Celebration List. Here's my first few items:

    1) Treat myself to a mani/pedi at the fancy hotel spa nearby

    2) Indulge in a glazed donut (usually off-limits for me) without a smidge of guilt (but stop at just one donut).

    3) Shop for a new outfit from a store that is not Ross Dress for Less or Marshalls.

    4) Brew a cup of fancy loose tea, wrap up in a comforter, and watch a DVD, or Tivo-ed movie without multi-tasking (no folding laundry, etc).

    5) Just read a book!!! (again no feeling guilty or calling myself lazy allowed).

    6) Relax in my backyard.

I'll add to the list as I think of more…

Ooh, I'm going to steal your list and add them to mine (insert evil laugh here)!
