Yes, I realize there will be many more things to Implement than I have time to do. That's why I included "discard" as my other choice. And here's one more option: defer -- that would by my equivalent of a Brilliant Ideas Journal. Actually I have a Brilliant Ideas notebook already, so a deferred idea just lives there until I am ready to implement it. But after a time, it becomes clear to me that I will never implement some ideas; these then get discarded to make room for "better" ideas. I am sure I will go to my grave with yet-to-be-implemented tasks but that's the idea. I'll never be bored! I think I will surprise myself by how much I actually get done (as opposed to thinking about getting it done).

Love the mantra idea! What a great way to keep your values/priorities at the forefront of your mind, Joanne.

Just make sure that you don't bombard yourself with things you feel you "should" do just because, well, they're in a book waiting for you to implement. I started my "Brilliant Ideas" journal from brainstorming with you about the projects I had on my To Do list that didn't get done within 30 days. I put them all in my Brilliant Ideas journal and have honestly not felt the need to implement any of them. Sometimes Brilliant Ideas are destined to be that - Brilliant Ideas!

That said, I applaud you for doing something with all the info you've accumulated! I'm looking forward to seeing the results in 2009. Happy New Year, Joanne!

Happy New Year! I've been thinking about my mantra, or theme for 2009. I'll be spreading my wings by choosing a mantra (I've never done this before) and living by it for one year (I reserve the right to change mantras mid-year if I discover a more powerful one). Well here it is for 2009: IMPLEMENT aka "Do it now" or "Today is Someday" I have so many ideas about things I want to do "someday" so many ebooks and workbooks and online exercises I've downloaded. They're all sitting idle on my computer, on the bookshelf, in a file drawer. So, one by one, I'm either going to implement or discard all this stuff. I love to collect information (not that there's anything wrong with that) but it's time to do something with all that information. So I'm going to be one busy (but productive) coach/speaker/mentor this year.
