Thorston, your comment is much, much appreciated. I decided to take my About Me & delve into it a bit more honestly, as I know I was not alone in my experience to walk away from my lifelong dream and the grief and confusion that came with it. It's my new passion to walk along that path with other creatives so that they don't have to go through it alone, while being able to get them to a new place of fulfillment more quickly than I did.

I only had a chance to glance at your blog, but look forward to reading the inspiring posts that help you move forward with your words & your artistic pursuits.

A really excellent post written with a refreshing openness and honesty that will benefit many other creatives looking to find their way. I have to say that as I am getting older (I wanted to say more mature but that may be debatable) I find myself re-evaluating my dreams of the past and discovering something interesting: much of what I dreamed of, or should I say imagined, is something I dreamed of for other people and not for myself. Not so much in the context of fulfilling expectations but rather projecting myself into other characters (which incidentally is a fine trait for an actor, which was suggested to me on several occasions). Understanding this has enabled me to assist those desperately looking for ways to make their dreams come true by means of conversation as well as the written word. I find myself becoming a more seasoned writer by means of exposure to different characters and their behavior, needs and feelings. And so I pause, reminisce and conclude: writing, a lifelong passion that has been severely neglected in the search of the 'right job'. If we allow ourselves to stop and detach from our dreams we may well discover that there is something much more desirable and ultimately more fulfilling right in front of us. Your experience reiterates this nicely.
